The World Meets the Mother City
From February 22–25, 2026, Cape Town will facilitate a technical and cultural exchange between 15 TechWomen mentors and fellows from Kyrgyzstan, Egypt, Nigeria, and the United States. This visit serves as a foundation for future partnerships between international experts and the South African STEM community.

The delegation joins Lori Kahn (TechWomen Mentor and a Society of Women Engineers Leader), a frequent collaborator with our Girls in Robotics program.
Program Pillars
Cultural & Historical Foundation | The trip begins with visits to Robben Island and Western Cape landmarks. This ensures the delegation’s engagement is informed by South Africa’s historical and social context.
Renewable Energy & Engineering | We will host technical sessions at universities to unpack the 'Prototype Gap' and 'the role of catalysis and engineering'. These workshops focus on assisting female engineering students in transitioning academic research into functional energy solutions.
AI Tools & Remote Employment | The program includes workshops for NPOs on implementing AI for operational efficiency. Participants will also discuss strategies for South African students to secure remote roles in the international tech market.
Youth Skills & Education | The visit includes hands-on engagements with youth in tech skills development programs. The delegation will also conduct interactive sessions with school pupils and educators through Girls in Robotics, focusing on practical STEM applications.
Join the Journey. Follow our blog for regular updates on these collaborations and their impact on the local 4IR ecosystem.
